Parts of Me
Individual Counseling In Winter Park, FL
My Approach
Internal Family Systems is an experiential therapy that helps resolve inner turmoil within you. It can be used to help understand the voices in your head, and relieve the heavy emotions you feel. Clients come in with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, and relational issues. This treatment approach is used to help you explore what parts of you are underneath all of these issues and how to help them. Clients are able to go within themselves by exploring, validating, and experiencing safely. Once they do this healing begins and their inner system feels more harmonious.
How We Start
When you book your consultation we will get a chance to know each other and see if this will be a good fit for you. Sessions are available online or in person based on which method fits your needs best. Feel free to ask me any questions about the therapeutic process or any concerns you have.
During our first session we will explore what problems you are facing, why they are so troublesome, and what you would like the future to look like. Each session is 50 minutes in length.
Once we have explored these concerns we will work towards internally addressing them and then safely going to what’s at the root of the problem and embark on a healing process for your inner system. When clients can experience this in session consistently, they can then go on their own and use this practice to live a healthy meaningful life.
Winter Park Counseling FAQs
Will Internal Family Systems therapy help me?
IFS is one of the few experiential therapy treatments used today and is on the cutting edge of transforming therapy. What this means is unlike traditional talk therapy, we focus on experiencing emotional coregulation in session using a variety of techniques. In doing this we engage both the left side and the right side of the brain and becoming more integrated.
What can I expect at the end of treatment?
You will be able to regulate your emotions better and address internal and external problems in a better way. My clients report feeling lighter and more at peace with themselves and their inner critics. They can move forward living a purposeful life and practice what they learned in therapy.
